About me
"I dream my paintings, and then I paint my dreams."
Vincent Van Gogh
I am Zsuzsanna Terebesi Gombár, a lawyer, abstract artist, and the visionary behind Terebesi Art Design.
Precision, discipline, and structured thinking define my everyday life as a legal professional. In painting, however, I allow freedom, intuition, and emotions to take the lead. Although these two worlds may seem distant at first, to me they are deeply interconnected and complement each other organically: law gives structure to my thoughts, while painting creates a space where my emotions and ideas can unfold freely.
I found in abstract painting the form of self-expression through which I can truly reveal myself. I do not adhere to a single style or technique. My paintings are the result of continuous exploration and experimentation: I work with different materials, surfaces, textures, and colour combinations until the harmony I wish to convey begins to emerge.
I draw inspiration from almost everything around me: nature, moods, colours, and the world I live in. I am particularly drawn to refined, elegant, yet distinctive colour palettes. Shades of blue, turquoise, green, and other colours inspired by nature frequently appear in my works.
The Power of Colour
I believe that colours have a genuine impact on us. They are not merely a visual experience; they create moods, convey emotions, and influence how we feel within a space. That is why, when creating my paintings, I always consider the atmosphere the artwork will ultimately create in its surroundings.
The Creative Process
The birth of a painting is a long and evolving process. First, I envision and plan the work; then the concept gradually unfolds on the canvas. Different layers, materials, textures, and colours are built upon one another, and very often the painting itself begins to shape and transform the original idea.
There are times when I work on a piece for weeks or even months. I return to it, make changes, build new layers, or sometimes remove what has already been created. I continue working until I feel that the painting has found its own sense of balance.
My Artistic Journey
In 2022, I first stepped into the public eye with my art. Since then, creating has become an essential part of my life, and I have increasingly had the opportunity to present my paintings at exhibitions and prestigious venues.
What is especially meaningful to me is the connection that develops between a work of art and its viewer. It brings me great joy when one of my paintings finds a new home, knowing that it will become part of someone's everyday life for many years to come.
What I Wish to Give Through My Art
For me, painting is about balance. The balance between freedom and conscious intention, structure and intuition, colour and emotion.
I want someone entering a space where a Terebesi Art Design painting has found its place to experience more than simply a picture. I want them to feel something.
Harmony. Energy. Calm. Joy. Or perhaps exactly the emotion they need in that particular moment.
I feel fortunate to have discovered painting — a medium through which I can fully express myself and continually bring new concepts and visions to life.
